“Oh, shit,” he said.

She blinked. She wasn’t sure but she didn’t think she’d ever heard him curse before.

“Has anyone done this?” she asked.

He shook his head, his throat working frantically. She went back to licking him. He arched his back, his body shuddering against the bed. He drove his hands through her hair, his fingers kneading her scalp. She moved her mouth up and down his stiff member. She’d gotten better at it since it was her way of pleasuring David and Jess without resorting to intercourse.

“I…I’m going to come,” he said, his voice quavering.

She kept on sucking him.

“Don’t…don’t you want to…. pull away?”

She shook her head. Initially Jess and David would pull out of her mouth before they came, but of late she’d just let them come in her mouth.

Len’s breath became harder as he fought for air, his body stiffening. His hips jerked upward and he drove himself in and out of her mouth.

“Fuck,” he sighed and he came, his seed sliding down her throat.

When he was done, she pulled away and looked up at him. His head was lolling on the pillow, his face slack from his release.

She moved up alongside him. His eyes fluttered open. She slipped under his arm and he drew her close against him. She slid her fingers across his sweat-dampened chest.

“I…I…thank you,” he said.

“You don’t have to thank me. Anyway, I don’t know if that counts. Me doing that.”

“Counts as what? Me not being a virgin anymore?”

She nodded.

“It does as far as I’m concerned.”

“It’s not that I don’t want to have you inside me.”

“I know. We don’t have any condoms or birth control.”

“I wouldn’t know what to do if I got pregnant. It’d be hard enough in the world that was. But here? Now?”

He kissed her forehead. “You don’t have to explain. But if you were to, you know, get pregnant, I’d take care of you and the baby.”

“Even if it wasn’t yours? Even if I didn’t know who the father was?”

“Even if. And I know the others would say the same.”

Would they, she wondered?

He stroked her face. “We’re in this together, Olivia. All of us. You know that. Right?”

Had she? She didn’t know. She’d never been entirely sure what her relationship to the men entailed. It was still all so surreal.

“Right?” he prodded her.

She nodded.

He smiled. “Tired?”

“A bit.”

“Is it okay if I sleep here?”

“Of course it is, silly.”

He smiled again and pulled her close until she was nestled against his neck, their arms around each other.

“I love you,” he said.

Olivia stiffened. She hadn’t expected that. Neither Jess nor David had ever said they loved her. All she could think was that maybe some men, overwhelmed by their first sexual experience, most likely said it in the heat of the moment.

Thankfully, she didn’t have to say anything in response, because Len was already asleep.
